Privacy Policy
Short version: we collect what we need to run the workshops, we don't sell it,
we don't share it with anyone outside the tools listed below, and you can ask us
to delete it any time. Long version below.
1. Who runs this
This website and the workshops are operated by Pradeep Siddappa
(sole proprietor), under the brand Designers Who Build. In this
document "we" or "us" refers to Pradeep Siddappa.
2. What we collect (and why)
When you apply for a cohort
- Name, email, phone - to contact you about the workshop and process payment
- Your role and experience - so we can scope your project for the day
- What you want to build - so we can prepare and group cohorts thoughtfully
- Coding comfort level - so we can pair you with the right starting template
- Payment information - handled directly by our payment processor; we never
see or store your card details
When you contact us
- Name (optional), email, message - to reply
When you visit the site
- Standard analytics via a third-party analytics service: pages visited, browser,
country, rough session duration. Used to understand which pages are useful. No personal identifiers.
- Anti-spam markers: IP address (for rate limiting on forms), nothing tied
to your identity
When you submit a testimonial
- Your photo and quote - only used after you've explicitly approved publication
3. Where it's stored
All registration, testimonial, and message data is stored with a reputable managed
cloud database provider, on servers located in India. Photos for testimonials are kept
in the same provider's secure file storage.
4. Third parties we use
We rely on a small set of trusted service providers to run the workshop and the
website. None of them sell your data. In general terms, they cover:
- Cloud database & file storage - securely holds registration data and
testimonial photos
- Payment processing - handles payments; card details go directly to the
processor and we only receive a confirmation
- Transactional email - sends emails such as payment details, workshop
reminders, and replies from
[email protected] - Website analytics - aggregate, non-identifying usage analytics
- Hosting, DNS & CDN - serves the website and its forms; this sees your
IP when you load the site
Each provider operates under its own privacy policy, and we have processor agreements
where required. We do not share your data with any third party beyond what's necessary
to deliver the workshop experience. If you'd like to know the specific providers we use,
just email us and we'll tell you.
5. Cookies
We use the bare minimum. Just analytics cookies for the page-visit count and
anti-spam cookies for form submissions. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking
pixels.
6. How long we keep it
- Registration data: kept while you're an active or recent participant,
and up to 3 years after your last workshop (for accounting and follow-up
purposes). After that we delete or anonymize.
- Contact / question messages: kept for 12 months after we've replied,
then deleted.
- Testimonials you've approved: kept as long as the testimonial is
published on the site. You can ask us to remove it any time.
7. Your rights
You can:
- Ask what we have on you - we'll send a copy within 30 days
- Ask us to correct anything - send the correction, we'll update
- Ask us to delete your data - we'll do it within 30 days, except where
we're legally required to retain (e.g. payment records for tax purposes are kept for
7 years per Indian law)
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails - every email has an unsubscribe link;
we don't send promotional emails very often anyway
Send any of these requests to
[email protected]
from the email address tied to your records.
8. Security
We do the standard set of things to protect your data:
- HTTPS everywhere
- Row-level security on the database (your data is isolated from other users)
- Honeypot fields, per-IP rate limiting, and origin allow-lists on all form endpoints
- No card data ever touches our servers (the payment processor handles all of it)
We make best efforts to protect personal information but no internet-facing system can
be guaranteed 100% secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your information,
we will notify you within 72 hours of discovery.
9. Children
The workshops are intended for adult designers and students aged 18 and above. We
don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has registered,
please email us and we'll delete the account.
10. International users
The website is operated from India and our data is stored on servers located in India.
If you're accessing from outside India, your data will be transferred to and stored in
India. By using the site, you consent to this transfer.
11. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy in a meaningful way, the "Last updated" date at the top
will change and we'll email anyone with an active account. Small clarifications
happen without notice.
